BEING THE CHANGE

REALIZATIONS AND IMPACTS OF A CONCIOUS LIFESTYLE

When we seat with a plate of food, even tho we might have a cooked chicken breast in front of us, we are most likely not going to think about it as an actual chicken, an animal that was once alive, that had emotions, a personality... Have you ever asked yourself why is that so? Why some animals are considered "okay" to be eaten and why the idea of eating other animals might cause you disgust or anger? Why is it that when we see a video of someone mistreating a dog everybody gets angry but then at the same time they pay for companies to do the same, and even worst things, with other animals like cows, chickens, and pigs?

Two years ago, I made a decision that would change how I look at the world and how I treat it. Two years ago, I decided to treat all earthlings equally and became vegan. That simple decision lead me to find out the benefits of this lifestyle. In the past two years I saved 730 lives, 803,000 gallons of water, 29,200lbs of grain, 21,900 sq. ft of forest, and 14,600lbs of Co2.

In October 21, 2017 I visited and volunteered at SARA, an animal sanctuary located in Seguin, near San Antonio TX. There I had the opportunity to interact and take care of the most beautiful and loving creatures that I’ve ever seen. It was the first time I ever had an experience like that. Since then I have returned once again in February 2018 and will be visiting many times more.

Most animals are misunderstood, mostly because of the gigantic gap in communication. It is up to US to stand up and protect the voiceless. Be the change that you want to see. Compassion, non-violence, for the animals, for the environment, for the people.
